About Mosaic Brain Health

Mosaic Brain Health offers high-quality care to adults and older children living and working in St. Petersburg, Florida, and the surrounding areas. Led by Michelle Mottern, PMHNP, FNP, an experienced psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, the team listens to patients, cares about what they say, and always puts them first.

The team treats most mental health problems, including anxiety disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression and other mood disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). At Mosaic Brain Health, the emphasis is on destigmatizing mental health and understanding that it’s brain health.

Patients undergo a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation performed with compassion. The holistic approach of the practice examines patients’ lifestyles, medical history, and environment to provide the most effective treatments.

Services at Mosaic Brain Health include psychopharmacology (where medications are appropriate) and psychotherapy. Therapy sessions combine motivational and cognitive approaches, with treatment programs often including journaling, supportive apps, and dream or nightmare analysis.

Suboxone® treatment is available for patients with substance use disorder, and Michelle will be providing ketamine infusions for treatment-resistant depression.

Call Mosaic Brain Health to learn more about the services offered, or book an appointment online today.

A bit about my approach to therapy
I treat each person as an individual and not a set of data or a diagnosis. I listen to your concerns. I work with you, and in return I expect you to work with me. We will go over your history, past medications, what worked, and most importantly what didn't work. I offer medication management as well as therapy for adolescents at 13 + to adults. Please be aware, patients seeking ADHD evaluations or medication management must be seen in person several times a year per renewed DEA guidelines.

What you can expect from our first session
You can expect to leave the session understanding the treatment plan and what is expected from both of us as treatment is a partnership between the provider and the client. You should expect to be hopeful and know that your progress is my ultimate goal for you.

What should a new client know about working with you?
I provide a compassionate evaluation without labels. Initially, you will receive one hour dedicated solely to your discovery. We will work together to hash out what's beneath the surface. During the first session, we will devise a plan. We will discuss medication, if appropriate. We will determine the frequency of sessions. In therapy, clients start either weekly or biweekly with the ultimate goal of fewer needed sessions. My goal is that you take away a calmer sense of being, feel lighter, and more energized, and have overall improved outcomes.

Patient Reviews
"Michelle is the first provider I’ve had in years who genuinely listens to me, cares about what I say and takes it into account. She cares, she’s easy to talk to, and has such a great personality. Talking to her makes me feel like I’m talking to an old friend. Comfortable. Can’t recommend her enough."
